PUSHKAR FAIR WITH RAJASTHAN

Pushkar, meaning born from a flower, is one of the oldest cities in India with its history dating back to the legends associated with Lord Brahma. In recent years, Pushkar has become a popular destination for foreign tourists because of the numerous temples it harbors and also for the Pushkar Camel Fair, an annual fair held in October to November for a period of five days from the Kartik ekadashi to Kartik Poornima,. The colorful Pushkar fair offers visitors a wonderful glimpse of the rich culture, ancient tradition, rural lifestyle, traditional folk dance and handicrafts of Rajasthan. Being one of the largest camels fair this ancient fair attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world. DAY 01: ARRIVAL IN DELHI

Namaste! Welcome to the Capital of India. You will be welcomed by our representatives on arrival at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure to let you overcome jet lag. In the evening you may explore the colorful and lively markets of Delhi. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 02: DELHI SIGHTSEEING

Good Morning! After breakfast you will be going for a full day sightseeing tour of the capital city of India starting with old Delhi founded as Shahjahanabad. You will visit the majestic Red Fort, a marvel in red sandstone, Jama Masjid, the largest and most splendid mosque in India, both built by Emperor Shah Jahan, Rajghat- the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, where he was cremated. Post lunch the sightseeing continues to explore the best tourist attractions of New Delhi including a drive past through the Indian President’s House (Rashtrapati Bhawan) towards India gate built to honour and pay a tribute to the Indian soldiers, then visit Humayun’s Tomb and Qutub Minar; built by Qutub-ud-din Aibek of the Slave Dynasty and the beautiful Lotus Temple. In the evening take a cycle rickshaw ride through the bustling and colourful bazaar of Chandani Chowk for shopping or to taste some tantalizing North Indian cuisines. Afterwards return to the hotel for a pleasant overnight stay.

DAY 03: DELHI TO AGRA (220 KMS)

After breakfast check out the hotel and proceed towards Agra. On the way To Agra stop over at Sikandra to see the Tomb of Mughal Emperor Akbar, a marvellous mausoleum of Mughal Emperor Akbar, spectacularly designed structure of Hindu and Muslim architecture. Once you reach Agra check in the hotel and leave for Agra Sightseeing with a visit to Agra Fort built in 1576 AD by great Mughal Emperor Akbar, structured and designed with red stoned barricaded; here you will find the splendid Pearl Mosque and various other classic example of art: Jahangir Mahal, Moti Masjid, Macchhi Bhawan, Nagina Masjid, Diwan-i-Khas, Sheesh Mahal, Diwan-e-Am, and Meena Bazaar. Emperor Shahjahan imprisoned by his rebellious son Aurangzeb in the Musamman Bhurj, would see his love reflecting through the Taj Mahal, where his dear wife was cremated. Later visit the Tomb of Itamad-ud-Daula, 35 kms from Agra, built by Empress Noorjahan daughter of Shahjahan, this monument a tribute to her great father. After sightseeing return to the hotel for a pleasant overnight stay.

DAY 04: AGRA TO JAIPUR VIA FATEHPUR SIKRI (243 KM)

Today morning after breakfast check out the hotel and visit world’s most popular and beautiful monument: Taj Mahal, a Symbol Of eternal love And UNESCO World Heritage Site. Being one of the 7 wonders of the world, this historical masterpiece is an illustration of the fusion of diverse architectural styles. Later proceed towards the Pink City, Jaipur. Enroute Jaipur stop over at Fatehpur Sikri, the old deserted town of the Mughal kingdom, built in red sandstone in honour of Saint Salim Chisti who blessed birth of 3 sons to Emperor Akbar. Afterwards continue drive towards Jaipur. On arrival check in at the hotel and have a pleasant night stay at Hotel.

DAY 05: JAIPUR CITY TOUR

Today morning after breakfast explore the Pink City with an excursion to splendid Amber Fort, situated just outside the city, built in the 15th Century by Rajput King Man Singh. Visit Jal Mahal or water palace that is situated in the midst of the beautiful Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur City. Continue your sightseeing by visiting the regal City Palace – present residence of the royal family of Jaipur, the palace is a miraculous portrayal of the real Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. Then visit the incredible Jantar Mantar which was innovated and constructed by Jaipur King Swai Jai Singh. Amongst the 5 observatories built by him, Jantar Mantar in Jaipur is one of them. Later visit the splendid Hawa Mahal, also known ‘Palace of Winds’ was built with a concept for the woman of royal families to speculate the royal ceremonies and festivals being hidden from the public eyes. After sightseeing have a pleasant night stay at your Hotel.

DAY 06: JAIPUR – PUSHKAR (140 KMS)

After breakfast drive to the holy city of Rajasthan “PUSHKAR”. A pilgrimage center with the one of the very few temples in India dedicated to lord Brahma, the Creator. Pushkar is the venue of an annual camel fair. Arrive and check in to Hotel and relax. Afterwards visit explore the holy city of Pushkar and world famous cattle fair. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 07: PUSHKAR

Breakfast at the hotel and rest of the day free for visiting colorful Pushkar fair. Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 08: PUSHKAR TO JODHPUR (190 KMS)

After breakfast leave towards your next destination Jodhpur. Upon your arrival in Jodhpur, you will be dropped to your hotel room. Evening is free at leisure. Overnight stay at Jodhpur.

DAY 09: JODHPUR SIGHTSEEING

After the breakfast you will be taken to some magnificent spots of Jodhpur for sight-seeing. There is Mehrangarh fort, Umaid Bhavan Palace, Ghanta ghar which are well known. The exact spots will be finalized as per your convenience. Afterwards return to the hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 10: TRANSFER TO JAISALMER

On this day check out from the hotel and head towards Jaisalmer. Upon arrival at Jodhpur you will be taken to pre booked hotel; and then as you get freshened up, by evening you will be in the magnificent Sam Sand Dunes, bustled with spark. You can hop on for a camel ride or enjoy the ever lively folk dances and music of Rajasthan as the sun sets and there is another glorious dusk.

DAY 11: JAISALMER SIGHTSEEING

After the breakfast you will be taken for sight-seeing. Some popular tourist spots are Jaisalmer fort, Bada Bagh, Salim Singh ki haweli, Gadsisar Lake and others; the final spots will be planned according to time and convenience.

DAY 12: EXCURSION TO BIKANER

After breakfast check out the hotel and drive to Bikaner, en route take a halt at Pokhran: visit the massive Fort of Pokhran. The town of Pokhran came to the renown when India’s first nuclear test was conducted here in the 1970’s. Pokhran Fort was Built in 1532-1584 the yellow sandstone, though not as conspicuous as some of the others forts in Rajasthan, it has a few exquisite palaces like the Mangal Niwas, the Rani Mahal and the Phool Niwas or the Flower Palace; visit the Pokhran Museum, housed inside the fort’s premises is fairly small and contains an hodgepodge of weapons, pottery paintings, and the costumes which the Maharajas wore. Later continue drive to Bikaner, on arrival transfer to the hotel. Rest of the evening is free for leisure. Overnight at the hotel in Bikaner.

DAY 13: BIKANER – MANDAWA (190 KMS: 5 HRS)

Today after breakfast takes the city tour of Bikaner visiting most popular and magnificent Junagarh Fort – built by Raja Rai Singh, this had never conquered during the entire history of Bikaner. The forts is having around 37 splendid palaces within the fort complex, there is wall of 7 kilometers around the fort and 37 bastions and 2 massive gates. Later check out the hotel and drive to Mandawa, enroute halt at to Deshnok, which worldly known for the Rat Temple, this temple is 600 years old, dedicated to Goddess Karni Mata, the temple is built by King of Bikaner Ganga Singh, the temple is decorated with cared silver gages and marble stone work. Later continue drive to medieval city Mandawa in Rajasthan, on arrival check in to a heritage hotel. Mandawa is also called the ‘open-air art gallery’ of Rajasthan. In the evening you can walk around the narrow lanes of the tradition town, watching locals and shops. Afterwards enjoy the traditional music and dance, live performance by the local artist, during the gala dinner. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 16: MANDAWA – DELHI

After breakfast explore Mandawa town, visiting notably known havelies: Binsidhar Chokhani, Newatia, and Gulab Rai Ladia Haveli. The Binsidhar Newatia Haveli, are famous for its inquisitive paintings. The Gulab Rai Ladia Haveli is known for its erotic paintings and images, now mostly defaced. These havelis are like museums, numerous havelis built by the wealthy merchants as in old days. Later check out the hotel and drive to Delhi, on arrival transfer to the airport to board the scheduled flight for onward journey, on departure the tour concludes with happy memories.
