GATEWAY OF INDIA

RAJABAI TOWER (UNIVERSITY OF MUMBAI)

MALABAR HILL

JAIN TEMPLE

The Jain Temple dedicated to Adinath the 1st Thirthankara. All built in marble the temple walls are adorned with colourful paintings depicting incidents culled out from the lives of 24th Thirthankaras of the Jain religion. HANGING GARDEN

The park, which was laid out in 1881 over Bombay?s main reservoir, owes its name to the renowned barrister Pherozshah Mehta. MANI BHAVAN (GANDHI MUSEUM)

The Mani Bhavan Gandhi Sangrahalaya is a quaint Gujarati-style house in Mumbai where Mahatma Gandhi lived from 1917 to 1934.Gandhi started various struggle movements like non co-operation, Satyagraha, Swedeshi, Khadi and Khilafat while residing here.

DHOBI GHAT (OPEN AIR WASHING LAUNDRY)

The Dhobi is a traditional laundry man who dirty clothes will wash it and return it neatly pressed to your doorstep. The laundries are called (GHATS). The clothes are soaked in sudsy water threshed on the flogging stones. The world’s largest outdoor laundry, Dhobi Ghat is a very popular attraction among foreign tourists.

BANGANGA WATER TANK

As the legend goes, overcome with fatigue and thirst, Rama asked his brother Lakshmana to bring him some water. Laxman instantly shot an arrow into the ground, and water gushed forth from the ground, creating a tributary of the Ganges.

DABBAWALA (TIFFIN BOX DELIVERY MEN)

The closest meaning of the Dabbawala in English would be the “lunch box delivery man”. This service was originated in 1880. In 1890, Mahadeo Havaji Bachche started a lunch delivery service with about 100 men now a days its estimated more than 5000 dabba wallas.
