DAY 01: ARRIVAL IN LEH
Namaste and welcome to India! Upon arrival at the Leh airport, our representative will meet you at the airport. Transfer to your hotel, check-in and relax. After lunch, the day will be free for you to rest so that your body can adjust to the high altitude of Leh. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 02: EXPLORING LEH
Post breakfast, you will ride to Nimu the meeting point of the major rivers of Ladakh, Indus and Zanskar. En route, you will also see the gravity defying phenomenon of the Magnetic Hill, the force from which often speeds up vehicles and disturbs airplanes flying over and Gurudwara Pathar Sahib where the Gurunanak defeated a demon.
In the afternoon, on the way back, pay homage to the war heroes at the Hall of Fame. Later, return to Leh to visit the Shanti Stupa to experience a magnificent panoramic view of Leh and the snow-clad mountains. The sunrise and sunset are worth-seeing from this Stupa. There is also a Buddhist temple with the Shanti Stupa, the Dalai Lama had inaugurated this temple in 1991. and the Leh Market for some Tibetan shopping experience. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 03: LEH – NUBRA VALLEY VIA KHARDUNG LA
In the morning, following breakfast, check-out from the hotel and start your journey towards North to Nubra Valley, also called the Valley of Flowers or Ldumra. Cross the famous Khardung La Pass (18,380 feet), the world’s highest motorable road. After reaching the resort/camp, you will check-in and rest. Post lunch visit the popular Sand Dunes of Hunder, a scenic landscape, where you can enjoy a ride on double-humped Bactrian camels. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp/resort.
DAY 04: NUBRA – TURTUK – NUBRA
After an early morning breakfast, embark on an adventurous journey driving through spectacular landscape into the realms of the Balti dynasty, to the quaint village of Turtuk, the last village located at an altitude of around 9,846 feet and is inhabited by the Balti people of Tibetan decent. This beautiful village is located on the edge of the Shayok Valley which is the part of the Nubra valley.
Turtuk was only open to travelers in 2010, just a few kilometers away from LOC, between India and Pakistan, now on the Indian side, until the year 1971, Turtuk was under the control of Pakistan. Have lunch in Turtuk and return back to Nubra Valley. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 05: NUBRA VALLEY – DISKIT MONASTERY – LEH
After breakfast at the hotel, you will head for the Diskit Monastery housing the magnificent statue of Maitreya Buddha (Buddha of the future) Then, return to Leh. Remember to take a picture with Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 06: LEH – PANGONG TSO
Today after breakfast you will be driven to the mesmerising Pangong Tso via the enthralling Chang La at a height of 18,000ft and several scenic valleys. On your arrival, you will be free to explore, discover and admire the bewitching beauty of this famous lake. The view of sun setting on the banks of lake is amazing. Overnight stay at the Pangong Lake camp.
DAY 06: PANGONG TSO – LEH
Get up early to enjoy the picturesque view of sun rise on lake. After Breakfast start your journey towards Leh. Enroute, visit the famous Thiksey Monastery and the beautiful Shey Palace.
Reaching Leh by late afternoon check in at the hotel and relax. You can either spend the rest of the day at leisure or take a stroll around the city limits; overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 07: DEPARTURE FROM LEH
Today, after having breakfast check out of the hotel and proceed towards the Leh Airport; and with your airport drop, this enchanting tour to Ladakh will come to an end with some memories to cherish for life.
