DAY 01: ARRIVAL IN DELHI
Namaste and Welcome to India!
Upon your arrival in Delhi, our representative will greet you at Delhi International Airport and transfer you to your Hotel. Check in and Rest of the day is at your leisure and relaxation. Stay overnight at the hotel in Delhi.
DAY 02: DELHI TO NAWALGARH (250 KMS)
Good Morning! After breakfast leave Delhi for Nawalgarh by road. On arrival, check-in at the hotel and relax. After relaxation get ready for the sightseeing tour of S Nawalgarh which was founded in 1737 by Thakur Nawal Singh. Better known as the “realm of frescos, The town has colourful bazaar, forts, Havelies with different types of painting styles reflecting history and culture of the region. Visit the Aath haveli, Surajmal Chhauchharia Haveli, Goenka haveli and Anand Lal Poddar Haveli. There are also interesting temples in town including Ganga Mai and Lakshminarayan temple. Overnight stay in Nawalgarh.
DAY 03: NAWALGARH TO JAIPUR (145 KMS)
After a scrumptious Breakfast at the hotel leave Nawalgarh and continue your journey towards Jaipur by road. On arrival in Jaipur, check-in at the hotel Jaipur and rest for some time. Afterwards go on to explore the Pink City of India City by visiting City Palace- the former royal residence built in a blend of the Rajasthani and Mughal styles. It now houses a museum with a superb collection of Rajasthani costumes, an armory of the Mughals and Rajputs with weapons of arms, an art gallery with an excellent collection of miniature paintings, carpets, royal paraphernalia and rare astronomical works in Arabic, Persian, Latin and Sanskrit. Jantar Mantar – an astrological and astronomical Observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh in 18th century, which is remarkable for its accuracy of the instruments even in the present times. Drive past the Palace of Winds, known popularly as Hawa Mahal, which is just a facade built for the Ladies of the Royal household in the 19th century. Overnight in Jaipur.
DAY 04: JAIPUR CITY TOUR
After breakfast at the hotel continue your sightseeing tour of the Pink City with an excursion to the magnificent Amber Fort with a drive past through the Jal Mahal also called The Water Palace. You can ride an elephant (subject to availability) to ascend the hill on which the Fort is situated. The rest of the day you can explore the colorful markets of the Pink City and go for some shopping. In the evening visit Choki Dhani to enjoy the rich Rajasthani culture and food.
Afterwards return to the hotel for a pleasant overnight stay.
DAY 05: JAIPUR TO SAWAI MADHOPUR (160 KMS)
After breakfast at the hotel leave for Sawai Madhopur by road. On arrival in Sawai Madhopur, check-in at the hotel and relax. The highlight of the trip to Sawai Madhopur is the visit to the Ranthambore National Park, which is one of the finest habitats in the world for the Tigers. Situated at the junction of the Aravali and Vindhyas hills, Ranthambore National Park is 10 km west of Sawai Madhopur. The blend between nature and history is self-evident at Ranthambore and the 13th century fort is the focal point of the park. Ranthambore is also counted as the famous heritage site because of the pictorial ruins that dot the wildlife park. Certainly, a visit to Ranthambore National Park is a treat for every wildlife and nature lover. The time spend on watching tigers roaming around, verdant greenery, a gamut of other species of chirpy birds and animals is priceless and worth enough to be explored at least once in a life.
Later in the afternoon visit the Ranthambhore National Park by Jeep or Canter. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Sawai Madhopur.
DAY 06: RANATHAMBORE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast get ready to enjoy an exhilarating jungle safari inside the wildlife sanctuary and have fun spotting wild animals and exotic birds. In the latter half of the day you will visit the Ranthambore Fort situated inside the Ranthambore National Park which was the hunting grounds for the Maharajas of the Jaipur dynasty and now is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afterwards return to the hotel for a pleasant night stay.
Day 07: SAWAI MADHOPUR TO DHOLPUR (215 KMS)
After breakfast at the hotel leave Sawai Madhopur and drive towards Dholpur. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel and relax. At afternoon go on a Sightseeing Tour of Dholpur. Dholpur is an interesting town to visit, full of historical forts and monuments. Being far from the usual tourist track and Dholpur is quite ‘undiscovered’. But Dholpur is well known in another way – for its excellent sandstone. This red stone was used for building not just the local structures but also those of Delhi like the Red Fort. In fact, the architect of modern Delhi, Edward Lutyens, had a special liking for it. Overnight in Dholpur.
DAY 08: DHOLPUR TO AGRA
After breakfast leave towards Agra. Upon arrival at Agra and visit the royal Taj Mahal – One of the seven wonder of the world is the most charming and gorgeous work of art built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a remembrance to his wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died during child birth. It is made up of white marble and took over two decades to complete. Later enjoy in Agra the massive Agra fort – buildup of red stone was built by Emperor Akbar in 1565 AD. Within the fort are a number of beautiful buildings, including the Moti Masjid, Diwane-i-Am, Diwane-i-Khas, Itmad-ud-Daulah Tomb known as Jewel Box or Baby Taj – The tomb of Mirza Giyas Beg was constructed in 16 century by his daughter Nurjahan, the wife of the Mughal emperor Jehangir.
Return to Dholpur for overnight stay.
DAY 09: DHOLPUR TO ORCHHA VIA GWALIOR (200 KMS)
Post Breakfast at the hotel leave Dholpur and drive towards Orchha visiting Gwalior enroute. On arrival in Orchha, check-in at the hotel. Afternoon: Sightseeing Tour of Orchha, a small town placed on the banks of River Betwa and accurately translates to “hidden place “and is a popular tourist Destination. Orchha is residence to Bundella style of structural design and the palaces of Orchha bear observer to the magnificent work of medieval architects. The famous amongst this are Raj Mahal and Jahangir Mahal. The Rajmandir – built on a square base has plain external with projecting windows. The Jahangir Mahal, built to welcome the Mughal emperor Jahangir is the magnificent example of Hindu structural design. The other attractions include the Raj Mahal, The Sheesh Mahal, the Chaturbhuj temple. Along with these there are numerous Chhatris of royals or cenotaphs dotting the banks of the river Betwa. Have a pleasant overnight stay at Orchha.
DAY 10: OCHHA TO KHAJURAHO (180 KMS)
Good Morning! After breakfast leave Orchha and continue your journey towards Khajuraho. The main attraction of Khajuraho is the Khajuraho Group of Temples. These temples are known for their Nagara architectural style and are listed as UNSESCO World Heritage Sites. Dating back to 950 AD, the temples are inscribed with ornamental carvings, mostly erotic. By the end of 12th century there were 85 temples as a whole, but today only 22 are left; Kandariya Mahadev Temple being the best of them all. The temples promoted integrity and acceptance between the Jains and Hindus. Besides Khajuraho Temple, Khajuraho is known for Yoga practices and Khajuraho Dance Festival. Khajuraho Festival grandly welcomes the summer season with the performances of Indian cultural dance forms. Overnight stay in Khajuraho.
DAY 11: KHAJURAHO TO ALLAHBAD (290 KMS)
Post breakfast drive towards Allahabad. Upon arrival check in at the hotel and relax. The rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 12: ALLAHBAD TO VARANASI (120 KMS)
Early morning after breakfast leave for Varanasi from Allahbad.
Varanasi is one of India’s most important pilgrimage sites and the holiest of holy cities for Hindus. Known also as Kashi and Benaras, Varanasi is one of the world’s oldest living cities, and has been a centre of learning and culture for well over 2000 years. Evening: Attend the “aarti” (religious) ceremony on the ghats of River Ganges. Overnight in Varanasi.
DAY 13: VARANASI TOUR
Early morning enjoy a Boat Ride on India’s most sacred river, the Ganges. Sun rise at the holy river is a truly tranquil and breath taking sight with pilgrims standing waist-deep in water, praying to the rising Sun. Past these bathing ghats, see the “burning ghats” where the Hindus cremate their dead. This is done with great religious fervour which makes for a moving experience. After breakfast go on a Sightseeing Tour of Varanasi and visit The Benaras Hindu University founded in 1916 and its famous Museum Bharat Kala Bhavan which houses one of the finest collection of Mughal miniature paintings and brocade textiles. The Bharat Mata and Durga Temple and see the famous Vishwanath temple with its spires covered with gold, dedicated to Shiva, the presiding deity of the city. · Afternoon: Excursion to Sarnath This is the place where the Buddha delivered his first Sermon ‘Turning of the Wheel of Law’. See the Chowkandi and Dhamek Stupas, the ruins of 9th and 10th century monasteries and temples, the temple built by the Mahabodhi Society in 1931, and the Tibetan Temple. Visit the famous Sarnath Museum (closed on Fridays). Overnight in Varanasi.
DAY 14: VARANASI TO DELHI (BY FLIGHT)
After breakfast transfer to the airport to board flight towards the next destination Delhi. Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to the airport. Upon arrival check in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 15: DEPARTURE
Today morning take an excursion to Samode, (45 kms:1 hr) – here you can explore Samode Haveli, Samode Baugh, which were the royal palaces and forts of the kings of Rajasthan, most wonderful place to recall the majestic royal past of Rajasthan. You can also visit to the villager’s houses to see their living and life style. And enjoy camel ride, camel cart to enjoy the village atmosphere. You may opt to have lunch/dinner (of your own) at Samode Haveli, converted into a heritage hotel.
Afterwards return back to Jaipur for overnight stay.
